Jeep Cherokee and Dodge Ram 3.0 Diesel Claim

Jeep Cherokee and Dodge Ram 3.0 Diesel Claim

The Law Office of James R. Snell, Jr., LLC, is currently seeking to assist South Carolina consumers with a claim resulting from the purchase or lease of 3.0 liter diesel 2014-2016 Jeep Cherokee Ecodiesel and Dodge Ram 1500 vehicles. There is based on how the vehicles were programmed to report that they were passing required emission control tests.

It isn’t known yet exactly what steps may be required to correct the vehicles, or how long repairs will take. A class action lawsuit has already been filed against Fiat Chrysler, the manufacturer of these vehicles regarding this issue. If you purchased, financed, or leased one of these vehicles we may be able to take legal action.

The vehicles must have the 3.0 liter diesel engine (not gasoline).

Why is this an issue?

The government requires new vehicles to be able to pass emission control testing. The allegation in the lawsuit is that the manufacturer came up with a way for the vehicles to appear that they were meeting those standards, when in fact they were not.

We believe that it is important for consumers to receive a vehicle in compliance with all applicable regulations. Here the lawsuit states that nitrogen oxide levels were 10-14 times higher than allowed. This is even though these products were marketed to consumers as being the “strongest, cleanest, quietest” engines in class. These emission levels can also cause catalytic converters to wear out quicker than normal, leading to higher repair costs and diminished performance. This also may affect resale or trade-in values.

How do I know if I qualify?

We are interested in speaking with individuals who owned or leased one of the following two vehicle types:

  • 2014-2016 Jeep Cherokee Ecodiesel
  • 2014-2016 Dodge Ram 1500

Either vehicle must have been sold with the 3.0 liter diesel engine.

What if I no longer own the vehicle?

If you previously owned or leased on of these vehicles, but no longer own it we still may be able to help. In this instance it is important that you owned the vehicle on January 12, 2017.
